CA 2015❤️

Oh, how time flies! It's 3rd of January 2016 and I haven't posted about my trip to Cali in July 2015! I started to write this but I've been so busy (or that is what I tell myself) that I haven't been able to write anything to my blog! But better late than never, here it comes!

Last fall(2014) I booked four weeks trip to Florida in July 2015 and of course I had started to wait my trip on the same day! On February I got a call that my trip to Florida is cancelled and I have to go some other place... For a moment I didn't want to go anywhere! But fortunately I came to my senses and decided to go to California (though Oona was going too)!
I don't know how is Florida like but Los Angeles area in CA was amazing and I don't regret that I decided to go to California instead.❤️

I stayed in Simi Valley with wonderful hostfamily which included lovely mom Vera, 10 yo charming boy William and 5 yo fashionista girl Leora. In the same house with me were staying a girl from Spain Irene and a girl from France Marie.

We arrived on 2nd of July and they were already getting ready for the 4th of July which of course is importand day to Americans cause it's their independence day! Flags and other 'stars and stripes -stuff' were all over the places.

We ate BBQ chicken, beans, corn, watermelon and for dessert we had Irenes b-day chocolate cake!

One of those things why I love CA is because there is warm enough for fruits to grow! Even my hostfamily had a own lemontree! We also went to pick oranges and made own orangejuice! And avocados! They where sooo good! Everyone who goes there should at least taste those, they are the best! Even though California produces a lot of fruit and vegetables itself are many products still brought from Mexico.

One of my favourite days during my trip was one Sunday when we went surfing to Ventura and after long day at the beach we had burgers in In-N-Out. It's very Californian fastfood restaurant that offers quality burgers for ex. Double-double which is a hamburger with two burgers and cheeses or instead of bun you can take your hamburger wrapped in lettuce. And you can also see how they cut their potatoes and deep frie them. I don't usually eat fastfood so I don't know was it better than McDonald's or some other. But what's for sure; the dish was big! In Finland you can almost count your fries with two hands fingers but not in Cali!

I had a crazy day in Six Flags (which is an amusmentpark full of rollercoasters) with Oona and her hostsister and -brother and their Italian exchange student. We had to spend a whole day there because lines for the rides were about an hour long for each ride! Food was also really expensive so we decided to go to the Habit Burger Grill after Six Flags.

I took Santa Barbara style burger which was delicious and had avocado inside!!❤️

One more fastfood place! :D Because California is so close to Mexico they eat a lot of Mexican food.(Specially Southern CA!) I had Mexican food at home couple of times, once at school, twise in restaurant and once in fastfood restaurant Chipotle. I've liked Mexican food but this trip changed my idea of Mexican food and now I like it even more!

We made a day tour to Beverly Hills with EF. It was expensive place so we just decided to eat cupcakes from cool cupcakeATM! I mean, look at it! It's so cool!

Coconut cupcake coming! And it was the best!

Most of my mornings I ate oatmeal with berries and nuts and tea from big California cup. On weekends we might have done waffles or french toasts and bacon.

I had day off so I used bit more time to prepare breakfast. Smoothie and detox water❤️ The ugly looking brown thing was leftovers from the worlds best cheesecake!

The Cheesecake Factory's Oreo cheesecake was mindblowing! It was 8$ per piece but worth for every penny! I actually had to buy it several times because it was sooo delicious. It was also so chunk that I ate from one piece for three times!

I had a whole weekend with my hostmom and we went to Santa Barbara. We spent a day sunbathing at the beach and at the end of the day we had sushi. I tried this deepfried sushi for the first time in my life and it was actually good but didn't taste like normal sushi.

My hostmom loved food and cooking and thaifood! Just like me! We made thaifood ourselves and it was so gooood!

Farmers Market was a place to taste different foods from all over the world. I had gyros with tabbouleh while others had thai.

We had EF's Farewell party in the end of the course and every family had to bring something to eat. And there was a lot to eat!
